PropHero wins two trophies at the 2022 Australian Proptech Awards!

PropHero wins two trophies at the 2022 Australian Proptech Awards!

Last year, one of the very first things our Marketing & PR team advised us to do, was to join Proptech Association Australia, the peak body for Australia’s proptech ecosystem.  This was sound advice and we promptly actioned it.

In February this year, Proptech Association Australia opened the entries for the 2022 Australian Proptech Awards and, as a member of the association, we were eligible to enter.

We’d never entered for any awards before, so this was new and exciting for us!

Choosing the right category

Our first step was to choose the category that we would enter.

We chose Consumer Proptech because our business model is B2C and, according to the Proptech Association’s website, the Consumer Proptech category is for:

“proptechs that deliver primarily to a B2C market and empower property buyers, sellers, renters, investors or owners to make more confident property decisions, provide greater choice, or which deliver better or faster ownership or rental outcomes with less friction.”

That is definitely PropHero’s category!  We absolutely empower property investors to make more confident property decisions with better and faster outcomes and less friction.

Addressing the judging criteria

Our next step was to look at the judging criteria and have our Marketing & PR team take charge of preparing the written submission with a direct line into the co-founders and tech team to check the details.

The criteria we had to address in our entry included:

·       Elevator pitch

·       Consumer pain points

·       How we use technology to provide a solution

·       Benefits of our solution

·       Marketing strategy

·       Evidence of market adoption

·       Innovation roadmap

Our Marketing & PR team did a great job pulling together a well-written entry that addressed all the required points and we submitted in good time before the deadline.

The only thing we could do now was to wait – and think good thoughts – as the judging process is in the hands of a panel of independent experts.

Making the short-list and being announced as a finalist

In May, the short-list of finalists was announced and to our delight PropHero had made the cut!

We were named as a finalist for Most Innovative Start-Up – Consumer Proptech.

Time for a mini-celebration as this moment was a great opportunity for media announcements and we were very proud to receive our silver Finalist’s Badge from the Proptech Association.

Attending the gala dinner – time to look sharp!

Teaming up with a couple of our favourite fellow proptechs, namely, Futurerent and OwnHome, we booked a table for the gala dinner on Wednesday 8 June at Dockside Cockle Bay.

Representing PropHero, we included Pablo Gil Brusola, Mickael Roger, Ping Du and David Alia.

We had to wait quite a while for the Consumer Proptech awards to be announced as they were almost at the end.

Our first win for the night was Best Consumer Proptech Start-Up

Finally it was time for our category as Most Innovative Start-Up – Consumer Proptech!

We were on the edge of our seats as AJ Chand, from sponsor Instarent, came to the stage and announced:  “The winner of the 2022 Proptech Award for Most Innovative Consumer Proptech Start-Up goes to … PropHero!”

We were thrilled!  Such a proud moment to go on stage, shake hands, accept the trophy, and then have our photo taken by the professional photographer in front of the media wall.

Of course, we immediately shared the news on social media … little did we know that we were going to have an even bigger success in just a few minutes!

PropHero also won the “best of the best” award for Start-Up Proptech of the Year!

At the close of the night there was a special category.

All the individual award winners are considered by a separate cohort of judges who vote for the “best of the best.”

As sponsor of this award, David Bowie from MRI Software announced PropHero as the Start-Up Proptech of the Year!

Accepting this second trophy at the podium, Mickael Roger said a few words of thanks, indicating that for such a young company, this honour is truly humbling.

A fantastic celebration of Australian proptech

It was an absolutely fantastic evening – a sold out event with 300+ amazing proptech people in the room.

Congratulations to all the winners!

Thank you to all the judges and sponsors, especially the major sponsor, Ashurst, for their support.

Full credit to our amazing industry association, Proptech Association Australia, for organising and hosting the annual Proptech Awards to showcase the breadth and depth of innovation in Australia’s proptech innovation ecosystem.  We’re already looking forward to next year’s event.

And we are very proud of our beautiful trophies and gold Winner’s Badges.
